    Warm Day!!

This morning I finished a game of scrabble with Damien and won by a
smidgeon. Then I rode into town really fast and got a handful of
exercise. Now I am stuck inside while it's really nice and warm out. You
know in summer when in the morning you can feel that it's going to be a
warm day? Well, that's today. It was over 20 degrees by 7:30am

    Want. To. Be. Outside.

Last night I watched the Crucible with Damien, done by the Burnside
Players. I was revoltingly tired and kept nodding off, which was very
embarrassing. The stars of the show were the actors who played the
Procters and the guy who played the second minister. The latter I swear
I saw playing Carrot once in a Discworld play. Anyway, the show was let
down by the judge (who kept forgetting his lines) and somewhat by
Abigail. Abigail was good, but needed to be far better. She just wasn't
that convincing. Maybe it was just that performance, because she
certainly got great reviews from other shows. Or maybe it was just me
expecting different things from my interpretation of the text. I saw
Abigail as more consistently hysterical, whereas this girl was more
choppy about it. I guess that's a valid way to act it. Really, she was
good. She just didn't make my blood run cold.

    Day off

Well, with Anzac day yesterday I got paid to sit around and do bugger
all. This was just what I needed. Very happy. I played scrabble online
in bed all afternoon after sleeping in until lunchtime. Perfect!

I've also started trying to learn two and three letter words off by
heart while I am between calls at work. Whee! I'll get better. One day I
might even be able to beat Tanya. Or my Nana, Aunty Betty or Aunty Gwen
    - imagine that?

Anyway, we had a meal at the Robin Hood for Oscar's birthday which was
most excellent. Nice bunch of people there + great food
+ pretty setting + Plenty of wine = Great night!

Two seven letter words and some Russian dances!

I started today by challenging Damien to a game of scrabble over breakfast. We didn't get time to finish the game, but since I'd managed two seven letter words and potentially had another one on the rack I was
feeling pretty stoked when we packed up.

Top that with the radio playing Polotsvian Dances (without choir) and
    singing along anyway.. Whee!

Well, last night proved a success. Damien pulled together a group of
creative people to inspire and help each other achieve their own goals.
I'm now promising to bring a composition to the next gathering in two
weeks. I'm scared, but excited. Yay! It's quite cool actually. Most of
the people there are writers to some degree. But there's a nice overlap
into photography, music and textiles. One girl is actually a
professional tapestry artist. So, yeah, we all have our creative blocks
we need to overcome.. and this just might work as a means to overcome
them. I'm feeling inspired to do some photography and writing too.

I kind of just want to hide away in my house and be all creative and
stuff. This was part of the point of getting the Norton Summit house in
the first place. So things are falling into place. Fantastic!

    Late Lunches

I hate waiting for a 2pm lunch break. It drives me nuts. And not because
of food, either. I just need to see the world outside. You know, we have
giant windows here, but the curtains are always shut. I can only see a
small sliver of sunlight. Madness is coming.

    More on my weekend

I basically had a pretty lazy weekend. After the excitement of the
gallery, Grange and Tanya's on Friday we had a huge sleep in on
Saturday. I went to the Scenic for breakfast and then went shopping at
the Tranmere Indian and Asian grocers. Yum. I then made the mistake of
"dropping in" to Firle to grab some shampoo. Bloody hell that place was
a zoo. Yuck. I ran screaming.

So, Saturday evening we went to James Cowling's place for a party. It
was a fairly quiet one, which meant we got to chat with the guy who
played Baterz in "Wanted" (the tribute play). That was cool. Much Baterz
was sung. That and it looks like Bruce and James will get their shit
together and Bruce will move in shortly. Yay!

Sunday was more vegging. We were going to go on a walk up Mt Lofty, but
after all the sleeping in we were only left with about 2 hours of
daylight left. We quickly ran off for a walk up to Ashton at least. Yay!

Sunday evening we saw "V for Vendetta" with Damien at Norwood. Damien
and I really liked it, but Bruce was all let down because it wasn't as
cool as the comics. It looks like we did ourselves a favour by not
    reading them first :)

Monday was the most vegging ever. We did veg much. Seriously, we did
    nothing. *sigh*

    What a great weekend!

    Stupid fucking spammers!
Fuck. My file storage (ie every part of this website that isn't hosted by blogger - see the top links like "mad about", "habits", "the ange" and "boy") has reached it's bandwidth quota. Usually I get nowhere near using it all. So, unless I suddenly got really popular in the last 3 days or something it's because I have spambots crawling my site.

    Fantastic Easter So Far
Well, Thursday night Matt took Bruce and I to Grange and we had a fantastic dinner at the Grange Hotel followed by wine with Matt's parents. We stayed in the flat and had a walk along hte beach in the morning which was GREAT! Then hot cross buns and on to the Art Gallery for a Corinthian's gig. Spent the whole day at the gallery feeling most cultured and relaxed. Grabbed a pizza from Jimmy's (in Crafers) and went to Tanya and Mark's house for the latter part of the evening and caught up with Sarah Brown.

    Bloody excellent day!

Now, today we are heading to the Summit for breakfast, to town for shopping, to a party at James' tonight. Tomorrow we plan to walk to Mt Lofty and at some point we're going to see "V for Vendetta".

Still a bit upset we can't afford to get to the Nationals in Canberra, but at least we've filled up the weekend with fun stuff that is just as cool. Yay!

    Blonde Moments with Marie

James A (To James W): Your breasts would be fuller than an eagle's.
James W: Is that an analogy?
James A (Very sarcastically): I don't know. Is it? Or is it a synonym?
    Marie: Isn't it an adjective?

Horror Movie (Right there on my shift?)

Okay, that was weird. After realising (Why we realised this is another
question entirely) that one of the girls here has lived in Australia for
21 years of her life and never heard of Skyhooks.. we just had a
Skyhooks singing session. We sang most of the best of album to her.. and
it did not help her at all. One lady here actually turned purple (from
laughing) while showing mock rage that this girl's parents hadn't
    educated her properly. Random. Weird.

And it's shocking me right out of my brain..

    Strange Apology
Okay, this post will have to start with a little background. When I began at Satisfac I got access to the bike lockup area as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, once in the lockup I notice that most of the places to lock my bike to were pretty useless. They've made it very hard to lock both your wheels and the frame to anything. NOT designed by a bike rider. Anyway, the first two days I put my bike in there I came back at the end of the day to find another person's bike ON TOP of my bike. Like further up the same pole my bike was locked to. I could understand the desire to lock a decent bike to the only solid pole in the place, so I wasn't too surprised. I just nosed about until I worked out how to get my bike out from under another locked bike. It sorted itself out anyway.

On an afternoon where Bruce had decided he was going to rescue me from the fate of riding up the hill for the third day in a row I had unlocked my bike and was waiting outside the bike lockup with it. The guy that owned the precious bike and I finally met and had a bitch about the badly designed bike lockup etc etc. I said I wasn't really fussed if he wanted to keep doing that as long as neither of us cared much about scratches or whatever. Whatever. It wasn't unpleasant. It was actually sort of funny.

Either way, the next time I locked my bike up was when I got paid and had the payday party.. and I forgot to pick up the bike after that. Friday I also had some reason not to ride home. But then I was sick for a week.. so the bike has stayed in the lockup for a week and a half without moving. But this time I had locked it to a different spot, attempting to see if I could make a different way work for me.

And now on to the point: I got back to my bike this evening to find a cute note in my helmet. The guy who had parked his bike on top of mine had decided to apologise for his appallingly childish behaviour (his words!) and to hereby welcome me to the bike lockup. It was kind of cute, but a lot of effort to go to in order to appease a guilty conscience.

    Methinks it's because I'm a girl. :P

    Walking in Norton Summit
After having the housewarming party last night, Damien and I woke up with some energy and decided to go for a walk up the nearest hill and see where it went. Actually it joined up with the Heysen Trail and the Yurrebilla Trail. Bloody awesome. I am so happy! So we walked about for a few hours until we felt like heading back for food. Fantastic morning!! So at some point I am planning to walk from here through Horsnell Gully and up to Mt Lofty Summit. Or something.. if that's where it goes. Yay!

    Sick Days
I have had massive headaches the past two days.. so I'm still at home sick.

The headaches plus drifting in and out of sleep is a pain, but there are upsides to being ill. I just got to have a decent catch up with a few friends on msn who I haven't spoken to in ages. Yay!

It's hard to be bothered eating and looking after yourself though. I need a doting slave. :P
