the Little Penguin Australian Wine - Wine Personality Test:

"You are a fun and light-hearted penguin who believes in true love. You may be black and white on the outside, but under those feathers beats a heart of gold. Good times and good friends are never far away, which is why the Little Penguin Chardonnay is your social beverage of choice.

Kudos on your journey of seabird self-discovery. Now that you've come to appreciate your true inner penguin, forward this test on to your friends. Then get the whole colony together with a few bottles of the Little Penguin wines and explore your penguin compatibility. You might discover a whole new meaning to the term 'wine pairing'."

Sarah just gave me a bollocking because I hadn't mentioned that she'd left for Canberra anywhere on my blog. I don't think I made any posts around the time she left and I was obviously preoccupied when I started posting again.
She left ages ago.. She seems to be enjoying her new job in Canberra - and so does Jason. Yay!

Katherine Kelly is pregnant too. Fiona and her are both 3 months :)

Yeah Alasdair's party last night was all good. Raj on Taj lived up to expectations, except for being a bit slow with service. The party then dissipated and the marianettes went on to drink too much - now there's a surprise. I proved yet again that it's possible to sleep while holding a glass of wine upright. Lots of itunes, geek humour and battlestar galactica.

One Night in Bangkok : Murray Head - Lyrics
One Night in Bangkok : Murray Head - Lyrics:

"One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
A little flesh, a little history
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me"

What draws me to daggy 70's and 80's music? Musicals? I just love them. :)

I think I should try sleeping - It sounds great.
Two nights of red wine in pubs - Thursday was with Nat in the Exeter, last night was with Nat and Tanya in the Elephant. More chat, more wine. :)

Not sure why I still woke up at 6am after all that, but it did mean I could read a book before breakfast. Nice. Tonight is Alasdair's party at Raj on Taj... yum.

So what's keeping me awake? Brain won't stop. I have a few too many things to keep on top of at the moment. I'd like to do less, but all of them are critical in their own way.

    No particular order:
IV - Fun & very relevant to chosen career
    FUCS/AUCS - Fun & Relevant to IV
TAFE - Relevant to chosen career
ACCU - Relevant to earn money. Could also be useful in career
Folk Fed - Fun & Relevant to chosen career. Also earns some money
Spending time with friends and boy - Got to have some fun that isn't also work!
Business - It *is* my career. I have to start certain balls rolling now
Fitness - I want to lose weight. I want to be more healthy. I want to be gorgeous. I want to be able to ride to Melbourne in December. It's also fun :)
Plus, I like to do other random personal things like reading, writing, holidays, movies and learning other interesting stuff.

    *sigh*

Ooh... I installed the new MSN Beta. It shows people what I'm listening to!! Cool.

    Trying to analyse myself...
I decided to do some investigation into myself and how others see me. I got a book from the library and thought I'd actually do a few of the exercises to see if I have a realistic view of myself and if I am actually portrayed in the way I would like to be. There is a point to this: If I can run my own Event Management business the line between work and play will be blurred. I will need to be more professional in my play time and more relaxed in my work time. The overall impression I give will have to be more consistent.
I asked Osar what words he would use to describe me and his first word was:
vitality. This was hours ago and I'm still thinking about it. As you can tell, I'm pretty happy with that. That's possibly one of the most flattering comments I've had in a while. Thanks Osk!

    Bridge
Since FUCS camp, when Matt decided to teach a few of us how to play bridge I have been reading about bridge. I'm loving it's elegance compared to 500. There's so many rules and conventions that when you think about it are laymens terms for some interesting mathematical analysis. Awesome. And in essence it is a very simple tricks and trumps game. Game play is easy if you know about tricks and trumps. 500 players (like me) go "Oh.. is that it? People told me bridge was HARD". Yes, the rules are simple. The conventions are many and varied (hard to remember), but it is the analysis people find hard. Because there is such a nice structure you can plan and theorise a lot more than in 500. Same rules can generally be applied to 500, but with kitty as a random chance factor. Okay lets put it this way... It's like knowing all the words to "The sound of music" and *then* learning about scales and basic music theory. I feel like I've known it all along, but I didn't quite know how to describe what I was doing... or it was not quite formalised into my memory.

    Ew!
I saw the Torrens today - It was revolting! I could smell the algae before I saw it. I've never seen it this bad before. The patterns it made in the water were almost fractal, so that was worth seeing. That was the only good thing. What a let down, Adelaide.

    Aaarrgh!

I'm in training which is infuriating enough... But this is some of the worst
debating, discussion and SPELLING I have seen in ages.

    bonus's instead of bonuses
    patients " " patience
My landlady used the word "diarise" which would be a cool word if it existed.

Also, I watched "Roger & Me" the other day and found that "Partier" was not
in an old version of the scrabble dictionary. Some poor woman (who had been
told that she wasn't allowed her 7 letter word) in a tournament advised that since "partier"
didn't exist we should all make sure we never claim to be one. :) Right! No
more parties. Actually this all seems to be wrong. Partier is accepted by the scrabble dictionary now..

Hey, did anyone else notice that e-scrabble has died?
    So upsetting. I shall
    have to find another.

Sometimes I really think I should run a restaurant. The amount they get away
    with charging is rude!

Ooh! And in news: Fiona is pregnant! Yay for Daniel and Fiona!

What are crayons made from? And I don't mean what Americans mean by crayons
    - I can distinguish between coloured pencils (with wood) and the other
stuff. Is it wax? Plastic? Something else entirely? Just that I read the
packet and it gave me no indication whatsoever. And do you know you can
erase crayon with a normal pencil eraser? I didn't. But the eraser came with
the crayons so I tried it. It didn't work very well, but it worked. You can
see I learned heaps today in training. *Sigh*

    Shitty AIV Meeting
Last night would have to be the worst AIV meeting to date. We had a really successful Easterfest and I invited people to write reports on Easterfest relating to their positions so we could analyse what worked and what didn't before AIV proper. Seemed like a sensible idea - especially since we will want the info for a final report and best to get it while it's still fresh in our minds. Also, it was to get us to have shorter reports because we knew it was already written down. We had 3 new members to the committee who are rightfully horrified and probably won't want to come back. Almost every report was long winded and involved someone complaining about me. Sure, I'm not perfect. Some of the things I did were not the best way to do it. But this was really nasty. The people who I spend the most time working with on the AIV committee pretty much told me to fuck off. The people who I spend the least time with pretty much told me I do nothing. A few comments were completely wrong and offensive. Those comments should have been said to me personally. And that coming from people who I thought were my friends. Most irritatingly, people were criticising me (rightfully or wrongfully) and not taking into account their own actions and how that affected the weekend. I realise that as convenor you end up taking the blame for anything that goes wrong and never get praise for the things that go right. But, for a festival that went really well it was a lot of blame. And so many things that needed to be discussed were ignored in favour of blaming me for something else. I'm still really angry about it. I have only slept about 20 minutes all night.

    Delayed posts
Okay, so I haven't written anything for AGES. I did send a post from work the other day (Tuesday 29th) about weird dreams i had the night before, but it doesn't seem to have arrived yet.

The 18-20th were AUCS camp at Longwood. That was a great weekend. I had a ball.

25th - 28th was Easterfest. Since I was organising it I had heaps of work to do, but somehow I still had a fantastic time. Yay! The general attitude is that a fantastic weekend was had by all, so I'm happy.

Yesterday I had a seriously crappy flu. I spent all day just lying around staring at the walls because I had no energy to move. I ate easter eggs when I was hungry because I could do that without getting out of bed. Someone eventually turned the tv on for me, but I couldn’t understand it anyway. Today I’m feeling a little better, so I will go to work. Still feeling really weak.

This weekend is FUCS camp, so I'm looking forward to that. :) Missing Katie's party tonight which is a bummer though. Jason Standing and Molly Kendall are both having parties I will probably have to miss on Saturday. Some relly bashing Sunday.

Alice just sent me an SMS saying she is now (as of 5 seconds ago) a registered midwife. Yay! Big party tonight for her at camp!

Next weekend is Benno and Claire's wedding in Melbourne and Rachael's hen's night in Adelaide. On the same night. I don't think I can make it to Melbourne :(

And now I hear Michelle and Aden are getting married too. Yay for them! On another note, I'm now one of very few of my old friends who isn't married off.

What a crazy life - weddings all the time!
