    Photos
I just put all my phone photos from September onto my blog. Okay, not all of them. Mainly the good ones. I've done my usual trick of trying to move them to the right chronological place. Most of them are from the AUCS dinner on the 4th. Also some from when Nat was over, going to Melbourne, some dancing ones.

    Mmm bike
That is one very sexy bike I just bought. It was effortless to ride. Absolutely beautiful. Absolutely painful for my ass.. but still a fantastic bike. I've made friends with it now and I've avoided Murphy's Law and failed to get knocked off the bike on my first day riding it. :)

Celia's comment tonight was pretty cute: "I'm glad to see you got that out of the settlement" :P

On the way home I was seeing if I could ride with no hands (it *was* the bike that was crap before - not me!) and I succeeded somewhat. While I was playing with that some dickheads started harassing to do a mono or flash my boobs or something. I think they wanted both. At the same time probably.

Woohoo! So who's going to ride with me? I won't be able to sit on that seat for at least a month - but I want to ride. I nearly just kept riding. It's a nice night to be out riding. What am I doing here?!?! Oh that's right. Failing to be asleep. I remember. :P

    Strange Days
So yesterday ended up being rather a lot of us in the Queen's Arms.. then I ran into George (Georgina Dungey) on the way back to the bus - we almost didn't notice each other.. and then all of a sudden went "Huh?!?! It's you!". I haven't seen her for so long!!

So, anyway, I got home and Damien was there.. cooking up the meat that defrosted when Margit and Oscar left the fridge unplugged. So there's an overwhelming meaty smell in the house. And I'm half pissed (okay, I was more than half pissed by then). Through my blushing and giggles we ended up talking about the Fish Head song. He'd never heard of it (not surprisingly) so I pulled out some mp3's and forced him to listen to it twice. :) Then I moved on to The Bangles and proved that I *really* could sing badly - although I think since I was a child in the 80's that it is my *duty* to sing "Eternal Flame" badly. I'd also pulled out a bottle of wine from the AIV bar (which is in my fridge - cold), forgetting that I hadn't eaten dinner.

So after getting the party started I call Melbourne and proceed to have a drunken conversation with Sean (with him sober) that resulted in me falling asleep on top of a bookshelf while still on the phone. How embarrasing!!! I have actually done that once before (without the bookshelf - and I was talking to Gus) because I was too drunk to go to a meeting and I was just letting him know I wasn't going to be there. I woke up many hours later with my mobile pressed into the side of my face - and he'd told everyone at the meeting. :( I am such a loser. :)

The more I think about what I was saying last night the more I wish I'd been sober. *hides*

Oh well. He still likes me! There is hope for me yet! Plus Damien is currently down the shop buying me juice. Obviously I look like I need help recovering. *shudder* Please.. no cameras. Erg. Work is going to be hard today.

    Todays Joke

There were two fish in a tank. One fish says to the other fish, "Okay, this time you drive and I get to shoot the guns!"

    I need some sleep!!!

Oh god. So last night I get home from choir.. eat chocolate cheescake and coffee and get stuck into reading Sean's blog. Great idea until I realise it's 2am and I have to be at work at 8:30!!! Erg. So 5 hours sleep. It's not like I've had a lot of sleep in the past week anyway.. soon I will be entering delerium. Glad I have no car to drive at the moment - I could get scary!

On my walk into work this morning I could think of dozens of things I wanted to blog.. but my poor, abused brain has now drawn a blank. Maybe I should try eating a real breakfast instead of just sucking down multivitamins and munching on apples.

I was mulling over Rachael's wedding.. and the fact that I need to sing a Shania Twain solo. I don't know the song.. so I have to learn it. I'm considering actually getting voice lessons so that I hopefully have some more confidence come the wedding. Funny how I can do solos for choirs without *too* much fear.. but when I picture myself singing a solo at a wedding I get all freaked out!! Why can't I just think of it like Karaoke or something? (Okay, I have already answered that question - because I want it to be *good*).

Sarah and Jason's wedding should be easier. All I have to do is get dolled up, stand next to them while they say nice things to each other and then party on, flirt and look pretty. That's my job isn't it?? Bridesmaid/groomswoman's right or something. :) And hang on.. I do recall a drunken conversation where I was told I was allowed to bring anyone I like to the wedding as long as they're my date and they stay in my bed afterwards. :) Something is telling me that Sarah just wants me to pick up. Then again.. I don't think that's a new thing.

Right.. so I'm delerious & at work. I have a cold cup of tea next to me. I still don't know if I finish at 12:30 or 1:30 as I've taken over the shift from someone else.. I have coffee dates all afternoon. Firstly with Tets (the long lost friend I hadn't seen until Margit and Oscar's wedding) and the second one with Jason (Poland) who I haven't had a long shit dribble with for ages. Yay! Seriously looking forward to it.

I'm probably not going to make an appearance at AUCS tonight.. since I'll be at a wedding (thankyou Sarah and Jason) the night of the concert and the coffee tonight will be at Alasdair's place. Notably *not* my place anymore. Still has all my stuff in it. Still has Alasdair in it. It just wouldn't be a good move to go.

Generally, I'd say things are looking up. Spending the last couple of days merrily frying my brain by spending valuable sleep time checking out a crazy Melbourne guy has improved my outlook greatly. :) I was even dancing on the way to work.. freaking out passing traffic. Actually, I should watch who I freak out as half of my workmates drive that way!! That could permanently scar them.. I'm going to have to keep it up to test that theory!

Anyway, all this blogging is interfering with valuable actually-talking-to-that-crazy-guy time.. so I'm going to go. :P

    More about the weekend

I left in rather a hurry last night and failed to embellish on my time in Melbourne.

The Melbourne trip was excellent. Sarah and Merridee are party animals and fail to let me sleep. Yay for them :)

When we got into Melbourne we stayed at this guy's house. He's a discworld mudder and he's had a shit time with an ex girlfriend lately. Well, that's all we knew when we turned up, anyway. :)

He pretty much went to bed not long after we got there so I didn't really see much of him. However, I did get to rummage through his stuff and form a bit of an opinion about him based on his house and belongings. And he's actually a pretty interesting guy. :) Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Illuminatus Trilogy, Abba, Weird Al, Limited edition Monopoly, Simpsons Edition Clue, gadgets and gizmos, magnetic poetry, computer left on permanently, bright yellow couches, a cute kitten, lots of dvd's of musicals - plus he makes ball gowns/costumes etc and perforrms/directs in musicals all the time. Oh and he has pink hair and likes stripey socks. :)

Okay, so I just wanted to talk about Sean (also known as Hinge). I really can't be bothered talking about the rest of the weekend other than it was fun :) Bolting to Melbourne and avoiding football-goers all weekend was pretty fun. It shall be done again.

    Quote

I've been reading Michael Marhall Smith's "Only Forward". In fact, I got very sunburnt yesterday reading in the sun in the back yard. Not really the point though. I found one of my favourite quotes. I'd forgotten how well written it is. Pretty much how I would have written it if I was trying to say the same thing. Okay, it's far superior to my writing.. but the same feel.

"How many times have you tried to talk to someone about something that matters to you, tried to get them to see it the way you do? And how many of those times have ended with you feeling bitter, resenting them for making you feel like your pain doesn't have any substance after all?
Like when you've split up with someone, and you try to communicate the way you feel, because you need to say the words, need to feel that somebody understands just how pissed off and frightened you feel. The problem is, they never do. 'Plenty more fish in the sea,' they'll say, or 'You're better off without them,' or 'Do you want some of these potato chips?' They never really understand, because they haven't been there, every day, every hour. They don't know the way things have been, the way that it's made you, the way it has structured your world. They'll never realise that someone who makes you feel bad may be the person you need most in the world. They don't understand the history, the background, don't know the pillars of memory that hold you up. Ultimately they don't know you well enough, and they never can. Everyone's alone in their world, because everybody's life is different. You can send people letters, and show them photos, but they can never come to visit where you live.
Unless you love them. And then they can burn it down."

    The Corporation Posted by Hello

This movie was great. It looked at the corporate entity and how it legally describes itself as a person. Then we visit phsychiatrists to diagnose what sort of person most corporations are: Psychopaths. Yeah, so there's a lot in it that we already know.. but it's a very interesting way to look at the world - and it scares the hell out of me that so many corporations are so evil. Sometimes you can believe that one or two companies are evil but you conveniently forget that most of the others probably are too. It's a screwed up world we live in.

Margit and Oscar are so cute :) Posted by Hello

    Posted at 10:23 AM # | Comments

    Slow Day at Work

It's pretty quiet here today so I'm writing a quick entry.

Oscar and Margit are getting married tonight! It's going to be at Warrawong Sanctuary - a cocktail reception. It's going to be great. They are both so relaxed about the whole thing. I'm arriving with Alasdair which is going to be a tad on the depressing side.

Tania Siegemund is apparently in town this weekend! So when I'm done with all that wedding guff I'm going to be spending some time catching up with her! Yay!

AIV is going particularly well - I've managed to get some amazing professional help which is going to be of great use. Things are generally falling into place and the committee rocks! Yay Adelaide!

Folk Fed Board elections are coming up. I have to do some serious work to get some things moving - like sponsorship.

TAFE has taken a backseat for a while but I really should do some bloody assignments! I am overloading but most of it isn't due until the end of the year - very easy to let it slide and have to cram it all in later. Eek!

The choir-formerly-known-as-flight rehearsal was last night. I love working with those guys. The voices blend together really well and are of pretty high quality. The pieces we are doing are a really good mix and Sarah and James are fantastic hosts - very good at relaxing me after a long day at work. :)

FUCS is doing a Glass/Nyman/unheard of composers concert with Acro "Circus in a Glass House". It's going to be really cool. Acrobatics and Philip Glass. Brilliant.

AUCS is doing Pink Floyd/Jesus Christ Superstar/ Cindy Lauper and other crazy stuff. I can't sing in the concert as it's on the same day as Sarah and Jason's wedding (did I already write that?). Very sad. :(

Most other things Bells/Morris/Ceroc I have dropped out of for good (or the time being) as I am just too bloody busy.

I've hardly done any reading lately. I started to read "Only Forward" (Michael Marshall Smith) again but I'm hardly ever getting a chance to even pick it up, let alone read it. I really want to get hold of Jasper Fforde's "Something Rotten". I should just buy it. Really.

On more popular music, I want to buy Missy Higgins' album and I want to go to the Faithless concert. I also want to buy all of the CD's Alasdair owns which I like. Which is, um, most of them. Ow. That's going to cost a lot. :(
I'm also completely failing to start my electronica remixing empire. Damien is getting to remix stuff as assignments for TAFE and it is really making me jealous. Maybe if I save up for the Mac and software (and let him use it) he will teach me how to use it all. Yeah, I think he'd go for that deal.

I am still failing to get to the gym (Zest) as it's never open when I want to go. Or I might be too slack. Not completely sure. I'm going to join Next Generation soon, which is going to cost more, but it's close (between work and home) and it's open a lot more of the time. I hope I go :)

This Summer is going to be BBQ's at Marian Place (we already have a pool and a table tennis table), riding everywhere, parties, gymming, singing, swimming, reading, games, music, gymnastics (I have to go), running, movies, surfing/windsurfing ( I *have* to learn), rock-climbing (I loved it but I've only been once) .. good stuff. Oh hang on. That's what I plan to do *every* day. Not just in Summer. :)

What a complete load of dribble. :) So I've said what I've been doing lately and what I *want* to do. I wonder what I *will* do... Hehe. It's not like I quite have enough time to do it all.

Woohoo! I just got asked if I wanted to do loans training. That's cool. That's a promotion I thought I was going to have to wait a lot longer for. Nice. :) I'll have to take time off TAFE though. One week. I'll live. Yay!

Right. Time to get more tea or something... Earl Grey. Lemon. Hot.

    Excellent Day.

I had an excellent day yesterday.. so I'm feeling pretty good today.

Yesterday I slept in.. read a bit. Got up and Vegged around in PJ's. Drank wine and watched Buffy (in PJ's still). Went to get my eyelashes tinted. Went shopping. Went to AUCS dinner. Did the Margit & Oscar wedding rehearsal. Attempted to watch a movie with Alice. Failed. Went home. Had AUCS Coffee at our place. Watched "Lost in Translation" with Oscar in the middle of the night. Crashed. :)

    Random update

I have been neglecting to write in my blog and hence failing to amuse my lovely readers.. Sorry, sorry, sorry!

Life has been fairly normal this week. Normal for me, anyway.

Saturday 28/08 I found some black knee high boots after working most of the day. So what if I spent as much as I earned? I think I stayed home and watched movies or something with Damien in the evening. Oh that's right.. we wanted to watch "Brazil" but the video shop didn't have it.. so we saw a zombie movie with Milla Jovovich and a cool soundtrack (I can't for the life of me remember the name.. but I've got the important bits down). Then we watched "The Butterfly Effect" and "Big Fish". I am still freaking out that butterfly effect had a different ending to the one I saw at the movies with Alasdair. And.. all the dvd "Alternate Endings" were different to the ending we saw at the movies too. Freaky shit. The ending we saw was better but it was cool to be freaked out by a different ending.

Sunday 29/08 I went shopping for shoes with Katie. Saw Mango for a quick coffee also.. Mango is not having a pleasant time of things at the moment as she had a big bike crash! Ow. Her jaw is wired together.. it looked so painful. Poor thing. On the shoe side of things, I found some funky brown sneakers and that makes me really happy.

Monday 30/08 I can hardly remember what happenned. Must have been thrilling. I took home the three $20 monitors I bought from ACCU for my flatmates.. Oscar was pretty excited when he saw his!!

Tuesday 31/08 I got fitted for my Pagaent costume. I am a pig on the "Three Little Pigs" float. I get to wear a sexy green gingham outfit with a big pig head. Oh dear :) After work I saw Alasdair for a drink at the Apocathery which went fairly well but I was a misery guts afterwards. I should have learned from that mistake. Ellinor randomly spotted me in Hindley Street and gave me a lift home (because she's a legend). I skipped FUCS because I was feeling crap. Oscar made me yummy pasta for dinner. Mmm.

Wednesday 1/09 I had an exam for a subject I haven't turned up to for a month.. I think my studying efforts on Wednesday morning *might* have pulled me over the pass line - just. Yikes. I picked up my groomsmaid skirt (nice and adjusted to short-ass height) for Sarah and Jason's wedding so now I'm set! AUCS Wednesday night with coffee at Matt Winefields. Nothing too exciting, but generally nice. The AUCS music rocks so it's fun to have it stuck in your head. (Pink Floyd and Jesus Christ Superstar - amongst other things!)

Thursday 2/09 was another late shift at work. I went and saw Alasdair after work which was a really stupid idea. Had a few drinks and some nachos. Things were fairly normal but I felt like crap afterwards.

Friday 3/09 didn't go to work as I felt like shit. Missed out on the ACCU drinks that night too. Bummer. Did manage to sort out Ali so that she has her new monitor and her computer is on the network at home.. yay! She is so excited. Win 95 on the computer though so she won't stay excited for long. Watched "The Omega Man" at home with Damien which was pretty cheesy.

Saturday 4/09 worked all morning. Went shopping (again) in the afternoon and found another pair of knee high boots. I *had* to buy them because they were perfect and really cheap. Kicked Damien's ass at Scrabble and then went to the AUCS annual dinner. I won an award at the dinner for being a bit too enthusiastic (or something) about all things choral. Whoops.. me? Nah not me. I'll scan the award later and blog it.

Sunday 05/09 woke up slowly and noticed there were hundreds of people (okay, 10) asleep in our house. Went up the street for supplies and cooked up a fantastic breakfast. Yumm... Eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, salmon, capers and spinach. Mmmm. Then I went to a Ceroc class and Adrian's birthday party BBQ at his house. Yay. That was a cool day!

Monday 06/09 - Today. Did the RAH dermatology appointment - hopefully this will finally clear up the last of my skin. If not, we are going to resort to desperate measures. Laser therapy will apparently kill it. I don't care as long as it goes! Today, I've been at work since 12 and I'm dying to go home. Apparently "6 Feet Under" is starting again so I might have to get into it this time instead of merely enjoying the theme music. :)

Okay, so it was a pretty boring run down of my life.. and it seems that I only remember things to do with work, exams, shoes and food. I don't really want to use my blog as a diary of my life or a way to keep in touch with friends.. although it is pretty useful as that :) but since I am so busy all the time it's all I can do just to remember what I've been up to that kepy me so busy. Oh well. I like it that way!
