    Weird Dreams
I had the weirdest dreams last night. I mean I know I've had a *long* long weekend (Easterfest was great!) but this was weird as.

One of them I was sitting on a beach and all the water drained away because a sattelite had landed just near us in the water. We (I don't know who "we" were) got into a boat just in time to not drown and spent the rest of the dream sailing around looking for fresh drinking water and land. It was like a computer game.

Another one I was living in an expensive house and trying to invent nice vegan food that all my flatmates would eat. I think we all ended up eating sandwiches.

Aargh. I can't remember the other crazy one now. You can see why I'm in a really weird mood now, though.

    Libraries

I just had a weird experience. I remembered how useful libraries are. This
consumer driven society can lead you to forget useful things like libraries
exist. I felt like I was impulse buying, but the only repercussion of my
action is that I have to lug the books around. That and I have to remember
    to take them back. :)

    Peak Oil
Oscar came home upset the other night after hearing a lecture on Peak Oil. "Peak Oil is also called "Hubbert's Peak," named for the Shell geologist Dr. Marion King Hubbert. In 1956, Hubbert accurately predicted that US domestic oil production would peak in 1970. He also predicted global production would peak in 1995, which it would have had the politically created oil shocks of the 1970s not delayed the peak for about 10-15 years."

It is pretty freaky. We (as a society) barely acknowledge the reality of it. It's always something that can be dealt with later. Well, not for long!

''Barnsey and Me'' a short story by Lord Byron and Schrodinger
Barnsey stumbles into your dressing room screaming: ''Cheap wine and a three day growth! Cheap wine and a three day growth! Who-oh, Who-oh, OH YEAH! So how the **** are you Angela?''
You settle uneasily in your red velour chair and adjust the sparkling gold outfit that truly defines your onstage rock presence. For a moment you recall that amusing day when your mum Dianne and Schrodinger fell into the concrete mixer as the pool was being fixed and provided the inspiration for your rock career.
''Oh Smange you are always so bloody QUIET!'' Barnsey screamed. ''You should yell more like me! Just do this: Hello I'm Jimmy Barnes and I'm a rock star YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!''
You try to remember how you got into touring with Barnsey. A vague memory stirs of a drunken night down at the local when Alasdair caught you successfully chatting up Kiera Knightley. You were escorting Kiera Knightley to the taxi when Alasdair descended like a ton of bricks. Barnsey appeared as if by magic (he was performing at the nearby RSL) and said ''Oh come on Alasdair, Angela here was just hailing a cab for me and Kiera Knightley. What a greeeeeeaaaaaaatttttt mate!'' And Barnsey drove off for a fabulous night with Kiera Knightley. Well the postcard he sent you indicated it anyway.
The flouro light flickers on the dressing room ceiling and brings you back to the present. With a loud sigh you drain the last of your Martini, polish off the last of the Thai Red Curry, then angrily throw the Lasagne against the wall.
''That's it! Barnsey roared in approval. Now you're becoming a rock star!''
''Showtime kid!'' Dianne said, poking her head around the door. ''Go give 'em a GREEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTTTTT show!''
''Don't I just love your mum?'' Barnsey said. ''She's the best manager I've ever had! Now get onstage and have a ball!''
You stumble on stage and the curtains roll up. A sea of Barnsey fans aged 45 plus look at you expectantly, then return to their beers in utter disappointment.
Such is life as a support act.
Alasdair looks up adoringly at you from the front row. With a brave smile you sit on the stool in the spotlight, pull the microphone to your dry lips, and begin to sing the song that made your career: ''I am a git, for doing this game, waste time a bit, plug in your name!''
The audience, emotionally moved, joins in, and ''I am a git, for doing this game, waste time a bit, plug in your name!'' echoes louder and louder around the auditorium.
After your set is over, and after a record four encores, Barnsey is finally allowed to take the stage. He looks at his watch, scowls at you, and empties a bottle of vodka over your head.

Rachael and James are getting married! Posted by Hello

    Posted at 10:38 PM # | Comments

    A spare moment! Wow!

For a boring job, I can certainly be very busy at work! I kind of envy the people who can do their own thing in quiet moments of their job. Sometimes I can too - as long as my own thing involves emailing. :)

So, I've not really had any real time to dedicate to my big question: Can I start my business now?
It's a bit freaky to think of not having a guaranteed income. So, to save myself that issue I'd have to keep working until my business is comfortably afloat. Then there's the other question: How am I supposed to get things rolling when I am studying and working? I have only one answer: No spare time. It's the only way.
So, when all my friends hassle me because they never get to see me they will at least know I have a good reason. I'm busy. :(

But then, there's the other option. Keep working jobs I hate. Not! :) Though, I'm working on a proposal for ACCU so I can do a project I am interested in and will benefit the company greatly (and no-one else seems to be doing it). So, that will keep me interested when I am here (if they let me do it)!

*sigh* Things are going to get much harder before they get easier, that's for sure.

At least organising AIV seems to be on track. There's always room for improvement, but the bulk of things are exactly where they should be at this stage.

Tonight I'm meeting Rachael to talk weddings! Yay! I'm feeling pretty poor though, so it won't be a late one.

I am in a world where socialising, fun and excercise is sorely neglected most of the time. I'm feeling fat and flabby and I'd love to spend 3 hours a day in the gym - I just don't have 3 hours spare. :(

Also It's hard to do anything when you have to be at work regular hours. Would I be better off going on Austudy? Or would they stuff me around again? I think they would. I can only rely on income I earn. But business income is scary, unreliable income too (for a while). How can I make it instantly viable? See, I don't even really have time to *think* about my options clearly - let alone act. :(

If I was studying and running my business, I would have plenty of time to organise some cool events and get my business whipped into shape. Problem is, events have to have publicity lead time so that they get an audience. And to run events I need spare time to start it.. Aargh! Catch 22!
