I'm getting all excited about camping this weekend. It's been AGES since I've been camping. It's shaping up to be kitchen sink camping.. but whatever. :)
Stuff, stuff.. where's my stuff? What stuff? Eek. I think most of my camping gear has dissapeared during my many moves of house. And my sleeping bag sucks! The zip is broken. Damn. Oh well. I was going to buy another one.. but the one I want is about $350. Should I get it today? I've researched lots.. *ponders*
This should be pretty funny. Camping all weekend with crap and borrowed gear.
I'm really looking forward to clearing my head and regaining some creativity.

Well, I'm reading a lot, learning a lot and sharing what I know in
AngelaRandall.com. The actual business (Stage Left) is coming along too: I've set up loads of useful things like an opensource project management tool which is almost exactly what I need. All I need now is some graphic design work done and to make a decision on which event to run first! Well, at least it's fun! I kind of feel like I'm cheating a bit because I can run the business any time I like and I still have time to spend with Bruce & do fun stuff. But that's the point of it all.
Ooh, and I even went for a jog this morning. It was a dismal effort, but I was thinking of doing it again soon. :)

This fantastic parody was originally found on
this site and shown to me by a
mutual friend.
CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW:
I am the very model of a modern movie buccaneer,
When playing Captain Jack, it's like a Rolling Stone has snuck in here,
Although the script has major holes that you could drive a truck through, dear,
I know the slightly druggy stance will still advance my film career.
I'm very well acquainted, too, with characters satanical,
The whole gamut, from A to Z, from putz to puritanical,
But here I am, again, alongside extras wearing manacles
To save us all, once more, from foes impressively tyrannical
ALL:
To save us all, once more, from foes impressively tyrannical!
CAPTAIN JACK:
I'm very good at slightly otherworldly folk like Scissorhands;
My Michael Jackson made a breeze of Willy Wonka's businessman:
I won Winona over then tattooed her on my arm, just here
I am the very model of a modern movie buccaneer.
ALL:
He won Winona over then tattooed her on his arm, just here,
He is the very model of a modern movie buccaneer!
CAPTAIN JACK:
I know our filmic history, my Bogarts and Oliviers;
I've dazzled many critics with my acting sensibilité,
I've never won an Oscar, but, although you'll think this sad of me,
I've played on an Oasis song, so balls to the Academy!
I play iconic loners with astounding versatility
My Ed Wood was a tour de force in black and white (and lingerie),
Let he who doubts my principles, or questions my abilty,
Be beaten back, confounded by my impeturbability.
ALL:
Be beaten back, confounded by his impeturbability!
CAPTAIN JACK:
I had to cut the N A from "Winona", leaving "Wino" there
Wino Forever's not so nice, but - what the devil? - c'est la guerre
It hasn't stopped me going out with models and celebrities:
The latest one to catch my heart is that Vanessa Paradis.
ALL:
It hasn't stopped him going out with models and celebrities:
The latest one to catch his heart is that Vanessa Paradis!
CAPTAIN JACK:
Yes, I am the very model of a modern movie buccaneer
In Pirates of the Caribbean Two I pushed my luck, I fear:
I briefly contemplated making Captain Jack a Muskateer,
Like Gerard Depardieu, but with a kind of Friar Tuck veneer.
I realise that playing Keith is what will make the kiddies cheer,
And send my earnings soaring higher, way above the stratosphere
So Keith it is, once more unto the breach we go, once more, my dear:
I am the very model of a modern movie buccaneer.
ALL:
He is the very model of a modern movie buccaneer!

Well, my first weekday as a non-wage slave was fantastic. I worked all mornng (from bed), bummed around at the library for a bit.. then watched a movie in bed (Love and other Catastrophes) and then used a free movie voucher (which had to be used by the end of yesterday) to watch
Clerks 2. There were only three people in the cinema cause it was the middle of the day. Very funny movie though.. and probably the perfect one to watch given the circumstances. Yeah sure, some of it was revolting.. but in a funny way, so who cares? :) And Jay and Silent Bob got EVEN FUNNIER. Yay!

I love Red Beef Phad Phed!! Yum.
I got it from Baan Thai on Magill Rd and LOVED it. I'm going to learn
how to make it the same way, dammit!
Hrm. When I search online for recipes it seems that most people put lots
of coconut milk in theirs.. Which is nothing like the one I had. The
Baan Thai one had a small amount of broth around it. And it seemed like
the meat had been sliced very thinly and cooked in liquid. The only
common thread seems to be that it's red and has fish sauce, capsicum,
garlic, lemongrass, chilli and lots and lots of sweet basil in it. The
one I had also had onion and lots of kaffir lime leaves.

Oh this is just crap. I hate sue-crazy Americans.
Katrina: guy who saved 200 with boat sued by boat's owner: "Xeni Jardin: New Orleans resident Mark Morice is credited with having rescued over 200 people from the flood immediately following Hurricane Katrina, using an idle boat he comandeered. The owner of that boat is now suing Morice for using the craft to save fellow citizens' lives 'without receiving permission,' and claims 'grief, mental anguish, embarrassment and suffering . . . due to the removal of the boat.' It seems no good deed goes un-sued: Mark Morice, who by the Wednesday after the storm said he 'couldn't get more than a block or two without people screaming to me for help,' took the boat 'out of necessity. . . . I did it for my neighbors.' (...) Morice made no attempt to return the boat, Mills said, and it remains missing. The Friday after the storm, Morice said, he left the city briefly to recover from a week of trolling the city's streets, 'living in fear and sleeping with a shotgun.' That day, after delivering 15 people to dry ground on Claiborne Avenue near the"

I've finally launched a website I've had brewing in my head for a while.
http://www.angelarandall.com/ has begun! It's a self-help/how-to/entrepreneur type site which will hopefully help a few people and maybe even make me some money. If you want to be really nice to me please tag it in delicious/ digg/ technorati/ stumbleupon etc.. whatever you use. :)
And so far I've only put up one article.. so there's not a lot to read yet.
