In some respects, this is a huge change of plans and we have a LOT of things to work out - like learning French instead of Swedish. In other ways, a lot of things are pretty much the same - we still need to get rid of heaps of stuff and pack up our lives entirely.
It's a bit of a stress, but it should be fun wherever we go. :D

Bonjour!
J'habite en Belgique depuis 1976 en 1980. Je suis Englais, et j'avais oublie presque tout ma Francais!
Good Morning! (I hope this translates as):
I lived in Belgium between 1976 and 1980. I'm English, and I've forgotten almost all of my French!
My family moved there when I was ten, and I was involved in an immersion program at the British School of Brussels. What really helped was a natural affinity, age and learning the language not by rote, but by exposure. (I actually lived in a Flemish town, which would rather that we spoke English first).
I love France! You are so lucky to be going there. My cousin lives there now and the style they can afford in their sleepy town compared to here is amazing. We went there a lot when we lived in Belgium, and it is the country that I would move to if I couldn't live here.
