I just found out that Jason Groves' partner Wendy died in a motorbike accident last week.

The media has been all over it:

I only met Wendy for a few minutes during the interval of Chess a few weeks ago (so I hardly knew her). But the accident is one that I'm always terrified of.

They were riding together but Jason was about 50 metres ahead. A girl called Theresa stepped out into the traffic right in front of Wendy on the motorbike. Both were thrown into traffic and killed instantly. Apparently the stretch of road is known for it's poor visibility.

And poor Jason. That would be devastating.

Jason got back on the bike though. As Wendy would have wanted. Very brave. :)
