Wow. It's been a while since I posted a real post here.. It's all youtube and links. Yikes! I think I've been too busy doing website stuff for other sites that I've pretty much neglected this one.
So, the me update. Er..
Well, I've been busy doing business stuff and trying not to spend all my money. So, lots of staying at home curled up with a laptop. Sometimes this also means watching DVDs at the same time.. but only when I'm working on something that can deal with the distraction.
A regular gig is coming soon.. word will spread shortly when I have things confirmed and a funky flyer done.
I'm singing in way too many concerts in the next few weeks. I think there are five concerts for Corinthians between now and Christmas. Sheesh.
I've decided that my party this year will be a shindig at my house. Not sure whether to theme or not. *ponders*
I'm contemplating taking part in a musical or a play.. just for something different.
Still a lot of work to do on the learning Swedish front. (Hard!)
Yeah, not really sure what else to update you on :) Maybe I'll get enthusiastic and write something real tomorrow. If you're desperate for Ange writings though (like I know you are really) you can check out AngelaRandall.com.
The females of the Corinthians are teaming up with the Unley Symphony Orchestra to put on a concert. The bit we are singing is a premiere perfomance of a new composition by Peter Webb called "Songs of Simplicity". There are 5 pieces and they are REALLY gorgeous. Other pieces are by Weber, Schubert and Dvorak. Conducted by Peter Webb.
I am still waiting on a real graphic designer to do my logo and to have some input to the prettiness of the site.. but all the functionality is ready to use and the layout is generally right.
You are able to login, sign up for mailing lists (events and volunteer lists), watch a pretty rss feed, check the events coming up (currently none), do polls to tell me what events you want.. that sort of thing. :)
Now I can start doing some events and getting people to sign up for the event mailing list. Yay!
Well, I thought Marguerite Giles was a loony and an awful landlord.. but I had momentarily forgotten about Frank Cassar.
"Raymond Cassar's property had an order in 2003 requiring him to provide shower tap handles and light globes, install bedroom doors and provide keys for the external door, and remove old cars from beside the house."
Now, I can't recall who was who.. but I think from memory it was Frank (not Raymond) who was Nat and Benno's landlord.
When I stayed there all the tenants where upset with him for various things. The main thing was that there were old cars left in the driveway which Frank had promised to move asap when they moved in. This was six months into the lease and the cars were still in the driveway.
Frank turned up unannounced the morning after a big party and went nuts because his car was parked in by Benno's car. Benno was away and no-one else had the key to his car. Frank thought they were just being assholes and nearly smashed Benno's car window so he could move the car. He then went nuts about the state of the house. The tenants pointed out he had to give two weeks notice before he could turn up. So he scribbled a note of notice on the back of something.
Nat and I visited the tenancy tribunal that day to find another group of people complaining about the same landlord. Yikes!
I liked too many of these.. and rather than posting them all I have added a flickr badge to my smange_other account. So you can see them on the right near the bottom somewhere. With all my other random funnies :)
